Dye Elementary YouthQuest Keeps Students Busy During the Winter Months
Brr! It’s been pretty cold! Thank you parents and grandparents for braving nightly Michigan crazy weather and allowing your child to spend after school hours with us. Students had an amazing time learning about STEM, Science, technology, Engineering & Math. It has been everywhere: board games, (math) sports, computer activities and science experiments. Students built “atoms” our of fresh fruit, geo shapes with mini marshmallows and toothpicks. Students are making life size robots paying close attention to how the human body moves in order to learn about anatomy, space and movement.
Flint Institute of Arts will be joining us to work on our art skills and gaining knowledge of artists in our area. The art works will be part of our YouthQuest in May – more information to come.
Keeping with our Dye/YouthQuest giving spirit we are working on making tie blankets to be given away to children in need at the Whaley’s Children House. Dye YouthQuest donated approximately 130 hot meals to the South end Food Kitchen in lieu of no school
Our Odyssey of the Mind students are improving their acting skills. They are writing scripts, practicing their lines, and learning about staging body language.
