Dye Elementary YouthQuest Gives Back to the Community
Caring, sharing, and giving back to the community. These are some of the things Dye elementary take pride in doing every day of the week. That tradition was carried on again this week. Students made quilted blankets to be donated to the Whaley’s Children’s Center of Flint. They were taught that even the smallest good deeds, and gestures of good will can make a world of difference for those who are less privileged. Students also collected food that was donated to the South End Food Kitchen located in Lincoln Park United Methodist Church to provide those who are homeless with meals.
In addition to our wonderful service learning and community outreach projects, we would like to recognize some of our Dye YouthQuest students who serve on Dye Elementary Student Council: Jajuan Cunningham, Jr. (Grade 5) – Council President, Anaiya Johnson (Grade 5) Council Vice President, Jessiana Aaron (Grade 5) – Council Treasurer, Aavyion Leverette (Grade 5) – Council Representative, Khadai Taylor (Grade 5) – Council Representative, Ashanti Baxter (Grade 3) – Council Representative, Amari Smith (Grade 3) – Council Representative.
We are proud of these students as they represent Dye Elementary, and the Dye YouthQuest program in the greatest possible way. Keep up the great work!
