PARKING LOT SAFETY

Lets all work together to get our afternoon parking running smoother. Picking your child up at the curb is the safest place, however all parents cannot fit into the parking area at the same time. Students are not released until the busses depart approximately 4:04 p.m. Kindergarten and 1st grade students are out first, followed by 2nd and 3rd, and lastly 4th and 5th grade students. If some parents would choose to arrive around 4:10 p.m., traffic would greatly decreased and you are easily able to collect your student without congestion. If you choose the 4:00 p.m. time, it is necessary to be patient and courteous to other parents and drivers. Everyone is here for the same reason – to collect their student and go home. We have to model what is expected of our students at school – being patient and kind and courteous to others. We are releasing students as quickly and safely as possible with your help.

If anyone is willing to volunteer to help with traffic at the start or end of the day, please stop in to the main office.

SUMMER SCIENCE CAMP

Camp will be held on July 21-31, Monday-Thursday from 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m . It is free for CA enrolled students who will be in kindergarten through fifth grade in 2014-15 school year. Dillon/Rankin students will attend  Dillon while Randels/Dye students will attend Randels. Breakfast, lunch and transportation will be included. A before- and after-child care program will available at Randels for a fee. Look for applications later in May.

YOUTHQUEST NEWS

YouthQuest students entered some of their recycled art into a competition at U of M Flint for an Earth Day celebration. Many different community organizations attended, but everyone there had one goal in mind: to improve our environment. The students made some Easter baskets for kids at Whaley Children’s home and were delivered to some very happy children. Students also dyed eggs and had an Easter egg hunt and each student received a prize. Miss Sherri’s group made deviled eggs and then enjoyed the delicious hors d’oeuvres. Other students made Easter bonnets, bunny hats, Easter cards, and even bunny bags and baskets to hold all their treats.

Big Mo and Mo’ Peeps Successful at World Championship
