Career and Technical Education Opportunities

shutterstock_136157591Carman-Ainsworth High School is proud to offer several courses in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department, with exciting programs which feature:

· Skills needed for post-secondary education and/or employment
·  High skills, high-tech, and rigorous academics
·  Valuable employability and career-related skills
·  Opportunities to earn free college credit.

Depending on the student’s interests, skills, and educational development plan (EDP), he/she can choose from the following CTE courses when planning their high school 4-year plan:

· Business Management Administration I, II, and III
· Design and Build
· Drafting and Design Technology
· Interior Design
· Life Management
· Marketing I and II
· Medicine and Health Care I and II
·Nutrition and Wellness
· Parenting I and II
·Personal Finance
· Pre-Engineering Design/Machine Drafting
·Relationships
·Web Design
·Woodworking I, II, and III
·Community-Based Learning – Co-op, Pre-Co-op, and Internships

More information on each class is available in the student course registration booklet and online on the Carman-Ainsworth High School Webpage under the department tab. Students and parents can also contact Kim Confer, Career and Technical Education Coordinator at 810-591-5538 or speak with any high school counselor. Registration for these classes will begin February 18th at the high school and continue through March 11th. 

CTE courses are open to all 10-12th graders who meet the academic pre-requisites.
