CAHS Theatre presents “The Imaginary Invalid”

The Imaginary Invalid takes place Friday, January 11th, and Saturday, January 12th at 7pm in the Carman-Ainsworth High School Auditorium.

This Saturday’s performance is a memorial presentation to honor CA Alumni, Sgt.  Joseph M. Lilly, who died during the summer of 2012, while serving our country in Afganistan. Proceeds of Saturday’s performance will go toward a scholarship to be awarded to a Theatre CA student in Sgt. Lilly’s name.

“The Imaginary Invalid” – This 16th Century French comedy written by the great Moliere follows Argan, a wealthy old man who is a severe hypochondriac and believes he is suffering from multiple diseases. His medical bills are getting out of hand, so he plans to wed his eldest daughter, Angelique, to a doctor. Argan’s second wife, Beline, is plotting to steal his fortune and Toinette, the housemaid, pokes her nose into everyone’s business for her own enjoyment. Hilartiy ensues as we meet Angelique’s suitors and Argan’s brother who tries to convince Argan himself to become a doctor.
