One World, Many Stories

Dillon hosted another successful Language Arts Fair on February 28. Nearly 250 people enjoyed a delicious dinner, games, crafts, and stories. The halls were covered with students’ class work and art relating to the theme “One World, Many Stories”. As families explored the displays, there were crafts and activities to add to the experience, including African animal presentations by Mrs. Grulke’s second and third grade students. It was a great evening full of learning and fun for everyone!

Dillon/Dye Elementary Title I Gallery

The Dillon and Dye Elementary Title I Programs hosted families at our annual Cookies and Cocoa Night.  This year’s theme, The Acoustic Rooster, is a book about a barnyard jazz band.  Families watched a video of the author, Kwame Alexander, reading the story.  Then they voted for their favorite characters, played the headband guessing game, wrote similes, and made guitars.  The highlight of the night was enjoying delicious cookies and warm cocoa while listening to the C-A Jazz Band!  Every student left with a copy of The Acoustic Rooster, another book of their choice, and the smooth sounds of jazz in their minds.
