Dye Title I Science Night

Dye families explored the skeletal system at the Title I Family Science Night on March 27.  Scientist Cheryl Cross shared her bone collection and demonstrated how many bones work in human bodies. Students used the information they learned in the presentation to complete games, puzzles, and sticker activities with their parents. Every Dye student was able to choose a FREE book and enjoy “bone” cookies at the end of the evening!

Fun with Trail Mix at Dye Elementary

Second graders in Mrs. McDunnah’s class are participating in Project PLACE this year for social studies.  Our first unit focused on economics.  For the final project the students had to produce a good they could sell at school.  We surveyed 3rd-5th grades and the majority of the students voted for trail mix.  We set an assembly line up in our classroom and produced 200 bags.  We sold the bags for 50 cents.  Overall we raised $100.  The class decided to donate earnings to the Food Bank.  The students learned a lot and had fun at the same time!

Dye Spelling Bee

Dye’s students have been studying!  Our students spelt word after word correctly during our annual 4th and 5th grade spelling bee.  We would like to congratulate all students who participated .

Dye Elementary Recycles Paper

shutterstock_84500002Please help support our program and put your used newspapers, magazines and school papers into our paper retriever outside in our parking lot. We have a 5th grade club that helps with this effort, it also helps the students understand  the benefits of recycling.

Our school earns money on this paper that can be used for textbooks, sports equipment, field trips, and other projects. So please remember to recycle your paper at our school.

Congratulations Dye Spelling Bee Winners
