Mobile Dentist Visits Dye Elementary

Teeth are clean at Dye. Mobile Dentist came to visit our school for its annual 6 month check up. The Mobile Dentist sets up just like a Dentist office. The kids got to have their teeth cleaned and a fluoride treatment and for some of our students who have their adult teeth, sealants were applied. Thank you to the Dentists and the Dental Assistants who came to help out this year. See you in the fall.

Students rehearsing for the All District Band and Orchestra Concert!

5th Grade students from Dye, Randels, and Rankin rehearsing for the All District Band and Orchestra Concert! Are you planning on watching them play live? The event takes place May 6th at 7pm in the CAHS gym. Don’t miss this fun event!

Maya, the Storyteller Visits Dye

In honor of Black History Month, 4th grade students at Dye Elementary were enlighten by stories, songs, instruments and activities surrounding the African American culture.  Activities included participation in the the book, Sit In:  How Four Friends Stood up by Sitting Down (against segregation at the Woolworth department store in 1960).

Mrs. Hotchkiss’ Kindergarten Class at Dye

We made it!  Mrs. Hotchkiss’ class has been working really hard at reading this month!  Her class set a goal to read to self for 15 minutes for several days in a row.  They made it!  They celebrated reaching that goal by buddy reading with juice and cookies.

The Case of the Cut Cake At Dye Elementary

The Title I Program at Dye hosted a family mystery night on March 14.  Families were invited to solve the Case of the Cut Cake by participating in reading and math problem solving activities.  Once they collected all of the clues and solved the mystery, families enjoyed cake and juice.  Every student took home a free mystery book along with a magnifying glass and strategy card to help solve unknown words when reading.

It was a fun night for everyone involved!  Please watch for more Title I nights at Dye!

Hardworking Bulldogs at Dye

Congratulations to all of our Hardworking Bulldogs at Dye! Each Friday a student from each class who has done exceptional work on an assignment is chosen to have the work displayed on the Hardworking Bulldog Board. Keep up the great work!

Fifth Graders at Dye Celebrate Reading Month

Marchwas Reading Month and 5th Graders at Dye are celebrating with Hat Day.  Dye’s Student Council sponsored Hat Day and accepted donations to help fund our annual Book Give-Away.

Dye Chuck-E-Cheese Fundraiser was a Huge Success!

Dye’s Parent Club held our annual Chuck-E-Cheese Fundraiser on Thursday, March 7th. Kids from all grades came out to enjoy a fun filled evening with family and friends; playing games and eating pizza. A portion of the proceeds earned were given to Dye Elementary. Thank you to everyone who helped plan the event and to everyone that participated in making this event a HUGE success.

Good for a Sub Luncheon at Dye Elementary

Students who showed respect to a substitute teacher, while their classroom teacher was gone, had a chance to have their name drawn to attend a Sub Party. At the Sub Party students celebrated their good behavior buy having a sub sandwich, chips, cookie and juice. Great job to all of students who earned an, “I was good for a Substitute” card. Keep up the great work.
