College Day at Dye Elementary

It was College Day at Dye Elementary, so staff members decided to show off their favorite colleges!!

Flint Township Fire Department Visits Dye Elementary

On Friday, October 10th, the first grade classes at Dye Elementary were visited by the Flint Township Fire Department.  Sargent Jason McCalahan & Firefighter Kevin reminded the students about fire safety rules.  The firemen covered rules like stop drop and roll and never reenter a burning building.  Firefighter Kevin demonstrated what a fireman will look like crawling through your house in the event of a fire.  The students also were able to see the fire truck up close.

Halloween Scaredy-Pants Race

unnamedCome help support the Cavalier Cross-Country Program by signing up for one of the following Halloween Scaredy-Pants Races!! The races will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25 at Carman-Ainsworth High School.

1½ Mile Trick-or-Treat Walk/Run (Costumes Encouraged)

  • 5:30 pm (Children through 6th grade)
  • Trick-or-treat around the course past a cemetery, witches, spider webs, etc.
  • Entry fee: $10 through October 23 or $15 October 24-25

5K Color Run/Walk

  • Try to outrun zombies, ghosts, goblins and creatures of the night
  • Entry fee: $40
  • Includes long-sleeved, tech Halloween Scaredy-Pants shirt
  • Medals to the first 100

Winter Coat Give-Away

Saturday, November 1st, 10:00am until coats run out. At Living Word Church of God, 6325 Calkins Road.

Children do not have to be present, but parents must have their Childs MIHealth Card. A photo ID will be required for all adults. Please bring your own bag to take your coats home in.

Dye Car Rider Pick-up Procedures

  • Students will not be dismissed from the office after 3:45pm.
  • Car riders will be dismissed for pick-up after the buses leave
  • If you park along the sidewalk, please stay in your car and allow your child to come to your car (this allows for your child to enter the car safely)
  • If parents park in the bus loop, they must get out of their cars to retrieve their child. Students are not allowed to go to the loop independently.
  • For student safety is it best to use the parent lot where students can enter your car curbside.
  • Students need to be picked up by 4:10.

English Language Learners (ELL)

Instructional Support Services are offered to students at Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools. English is Second Language (ESL) program provides English language instruction to students who are English Language Learners (ELL) and instructional support to building staff. In coordination with the Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD), a Language Line Service has been established to assist parents and school staff communicate for school enrollment and student educational progress. Language Line Service can be utilized either in person at our school buildings or by contacting the building the student attends by phone, or by calling the Student Support Service Office and ask for language interpreter assistance.

Dye Elementary Car Rider Pick-up Procedures

  • 137928894Students will not be dismissed from the office after 3:45 p.m.
  • Car riders will be dismissed for pick-up after the buses leave at approx. 4:05 p.m.
  • If you park along the sidewalk, please stay in your car and allow your child to come to your car (this allows for your child to enter the car safely and for faster dismissal.)
  • If you park in the parking lot or street, please walk to the sidewalk to pick up your child.
  • Students will come out by the pavilion , lined up by grade:
  1.    K and 1st grade students lead the line
  2.     2nd and 3rd grade students follow
  3.     4th and 5th grade students will come out last
  • If you arrive at or after 4:10 most of the congestion will have cleared from the

parking lot.

U.S. Baseball Academy

The U.S. Baseball Academy, the nation’s largest training program, is coming to Carman-Ainsworth High School on January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 & Feb. 7. These sessions are for grades first thru 12th and will include six weeks of expert instruction. Click below to view flyer.

2014 Community Education Youth Basketball Fall Leagues

78812615Registration for the 2014 Bendle/Carman-Ainsworth Community Education Youth Basketball Leagues is now open. The leagues are for kids in grades 3rd thru 8th. Registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 10.

2014-2015 C/A Community Education Before School Program

114326989With Late Start Wednesdays beginning on Oct. 1, we would like to offer students K-5th grade the opportunity to engage in P.A.L.S, a fun-filled program with choices of activities for your children. This program will take place every Wednesday from Oct. 1-Apri 22 from 8:30-9:45 am.
