Great Weekend For Our Robotics Team!

The Carman-Ainsworth FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition®) Team 314 did compete this last weekend at the Michigan FIRST® Robotics Competition State Championship with 63 other teams from around the state to to try and qualify for a spot at the FIRST® FRC Championship in St. Louis, MO. They had a fantastic weekend.

  • Overall Qualifying Event Rank:  16th out of 64 teams in the Championship event
  • Was the 2nd pick of the 3rd Seed Alliance
  • Played in the elimination matches which went all the way to the finals. Big MO went undefeated through the eliminations with their partners.
  • We are the 2014 Michigan FIRST® Robotics Competition State Champions. Our Alliance was Team 27 Team RUSH, Clarkston (Captain),  Team 33 Killerbees, Clarkston and Team 314, Megatron Oracles.
  • Because of the hard work, dedication and heart of this team, we are ranked 6th out of 277 teams that played in the State of Michigan with a grand total of 272 points earned in the 2014 competition season.
  • Because of the points we have earned, we are now officially qualified to compete at the FIRST® FRC Championship in St. Louis, MO.

Congrats To The Carman-Ainsworth FRC Team 314

The Carman-Ainsworth FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition®) Team 314 did compete this last weekend at the Livonia FIRST® Robotics District Competition with 39 other teams from around the state to earn points at qualifying for a spot at the Michigan FRC State Championship.  This was their second competition this year. They had a fantastic weekend.

  • Overall Rank:  3rd in the District event
  • Was selected by the 1st Alliance Captain to be a partner which we had declined as we wanted to be our own Alliance Captain
  • Played in the Elimination matches which went all the way to the finals. Quarter-finals and Finals went to 3 matches.
  • We are also the 2014 Livonia FIRST® Robotics District Competition Winners. Our Alliance was Team 314, Megatron Oracles (Captain),Team 503 Frog Force, Novi and Team 815, Advanced Power, Allen Park.
  • Because of these efforts we are currently in 4th place out of 278 teams that played in the State of Michigan with a total of 131 points earned towards the Michigan FRC State Championship.  Also according to a unofficial listing on ChiefDelphi.com we are ranked 41st out of 2451 FRC Teams who have competed worldwide.   • Because of the points we are now projected to compete at the Michigan FRC State Championship.
  • Also this last weekend was the 10 year anniversary of when the Megatron Oracles won the first blue banner at the Southern California Regional with 59 other teams and only one other team from Michigan was out there with us. It was also our Alliance partner, FRC Team 815 Advanced Power from Allen Park. (little trivia & history)

•       Prom will be held May 3rd, at Black Forest in Frankenmuth from 7:30 to 10:30.

•       Tickets will be on sale for $45 beginning April 22-29th in room 302 (Mrs. Standen) before and after school only!

•       See Mrs. Standen or Mr. Iseler for any questions.

•       Guest passes are now available in the main office. All CAHS students wanting to bring a non-CAHS student must submit a guess pass for approval by Thursday, April 17th.

You are invited to the Flint Public Library for the teen author forum to meet Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie on March 27th.  Students will get a free copy of her book, Purple Hibiscus. Space is limited so please stop by the media center for more information or to sign up if you are interested.
