We are very excited to welcome Penny and her owner Miss Diane to Rankin Elementary! Penny is a certified therapy dog through Therapy Dogs International. Penny follows basic commands and has a calm and non-aggressive temperament. She will be in the building on Friday afternoons. Rankin students will have the opportunity (if they choose) to spend time and read to Penny.

Therapy Dogs provide opportunities for companionship and learning which will enhance the educational experience for students at all grade levels. Therapy Dogs are a non-threatening companions who accept differences among people and don’t differentiate when showing affection! Penny loves everyone!

We are very excited about offering this new program at Rankin and welcome Penny and Diane to our school family!
